Professor Karim is a great professor who really cares about his students. There was a time I was very confused by the material, but his office hours helped clarify every question I had. One piece of advice I have is that in the lecture before the exam, he goes over practice problems that are essentially the exam questions, which makes the grading for this class was stress-free, meaning I could stay focused on simply learning the material. The notes he uploads to BruinLearn are high quality and in depth. They helped me review the material very well and they were easy to follow and understand.
Prof Karim was one of the few lecturers I encountered that truly cared for the performance and growth of his students. I went into 103 with a massive fear of fluid mechanics as i had heard many stories of its difficulty. However, this class was made much more palatable and fair by Prof Karim. He took the extra time explaining any difficult concepts and always answered student questions to the best of his abilities. The exams were somewhat lengthy but still fair as they were similar to those reviewed in class. There were no major tricks on HW or exams and if you understand lecture material and practice efficiently you will definitely succeed. Always stay back and ask any questions you have s the Prof will always be there to help and support you. Overall, I highly recommend taking 103 with Prof Karim as I can assure you it'll be more of a fair and supported experience than majority of the difficult classes at UCLA.
Prof Karim is an exceptional instructor who truly cares about his students. The material is dense and at times difficult to follow but the profs is always happy to help clarify things. His dedication to ensuring I understood even the most challenging material is unmatched to any prof I have had at UCLA. He always takes the time to explain difficult concepts and is always available for help either after class or at OH. His exams are long but fair. He prepares us very well in advance for the exams and has very helpful examples that are essential for the exams. The book is also very useful for additional examples and practice. I highly recommend his classes to anyone looking for a supportive, knowledgeable, and approachable professor especially for such a content heavy class. But no lie the material is hard.
