Amazing professor! He's always willing to help and genuinely wants his students to succeed. I struggled a bit with the content, as I do not have a strong background in music or really any background at all. Professor Pourjavady is a hands-on teacher. Although he expected us to attend all live lectures at their scheduled times, this was needed to really understand the course material, and I actually looked forward going to class because it was both chill and fun. Professor Pourjavady recognized my efforts and taught me so much about the music and culture of Iran (and other Middle Eastern countries) in a matter of weeks. I ended up with an A+ and I really think that this was because of how dedicated I was to learning, and the professor noticed and appreciated that. Take this class with Prof. Pourjavady!
