Prof. Lau is good. Take note, her lectures are important to go to because the powerpoints don't tell you everything you need to know. She expands on each bullet point. One of my favorite things about her is that she seems very genuine, and she's very approachable. She goes a little fast during lecture so if you aren't keeping up with your notes or paying attention you will miss things. Also, be ready to not be able to do the reading. There's an unrealistic amount of it, but just as the other reviews have said- just pay attention and take detailed notes during lecture and you'll be fine. I didn't bring a laptop cause I like to handwrite my notes but I ended up regretting it a little because occasionally I wanted to write more but I couldn't keep up. I liked her as a teacher, but to be honest I wasn't crazy about the course. You basically just look at study after study, and many of the times the findings are a bit inconclusive. It's a lot of memorization, not very much conceptual understanding needed- if that's your sort of thing.

Hope this helps, guys!

Professor Lau is a FANTASTIC Lecturer and a great professor overall! Her lectures always went by quickly and her exams are more than fair! For her course (Psychology M107) you have one 5 page paper, one midterm, and one final. It is not difficult to do well if you do the work that she asks you to do, which is reasonable. Just go to lecture, take DETAILED notes, and know your notes in and out for both exams. Although she does assign reading, they were more supplementary in the sense that if you didn't understand something about a particular study in lecture, reading them will help. She is also always available during her office hours to answer questions. There is absolutely no reason that you cannot get an A in her class (she also applies a curve that works for you not against you).

LOVED this class! If you can, i suggest you take it! you don't really need to get the reader. I didn't and i ended up with an A in the class. There are two tests: midterm & final. And, one paper you have to write. You choose from two books. The tests consist of a few MCs, some short answers, and one long answer. It's a great class and Anna is so sweet!
