This course was extremely easy! The lectures are podcasted and attached to the lecture slides. She doesn't require a textbook and sends you the required text readings (which are doable). She has weekly quizzes which are due at the end of the quarter, so you're able to take them whenever you can. There's no midterm or final, just an essay describing what you've learned in the class and how you've applied to your life. She is also a very sweet professor and cares for her students.
Warlaumont definitely means well, but she gets sidetracked pretty easily and would commonly not get through her lecture material. For that reason, it wasn't entirely necessary to go to lecture, just do the weekly reading and gloss at the slides, and the weekly assignment was quite straightforward. I would also keep in mind that the TA graded more leniently than Warlaumont when it came to the assignment
This class touches on various developmental stages of communication and focuses on different topics each week (something I really enjoyed) such as media, culture, vocalizations, etc. The weekly writing assignments are completely doable (only 400 words) and easy if you just attend class. She posts here power points on CCLE but expands more on confusing topics if you actually attend lecture - super helpful! I recommend this class to anyone considering studying speech and language pathology in the future. I am a ling major and found this class to be super interesting and helpful despite it not being technically a linguistics course.
This class was one of the easiest Comm classes I've taken. Your grade is based on one weekly, 400 word assignment, and your lowest grade is dropped. There is no midterm or final, or a group project. The lectures are super interesting even though the professor tends to ramble at times. To accompany the weekly 400 word assignment is one reading that the professor posts on CCLE, so there is no cost to taking this class. Overall I learned valuable information and I thought the grading was extremely generous.
