The class and materials covered in class are interesting, however the professor can't keep his students awake for more than 15 minutes. The grading in this class is very easy and about 2 hours of reading is required each week. If you can will yourself to come to his torture...i mean lecture and be consistant with reading then you won't have any trouble getting an A. I missed 80% of his lectures, BSed my term paper and still maintaining a B in the class. Take this class if you're VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY interested in Southeast Asia, or if you think you're disciplined enough to do the minimal amount of work that is assigned.

Two words: absolutely horrible.

I thought I would learn more about my own culture but after the first week I said "screw my culture." Reid turns good subject matter in to pure torture. There was not one class where at least 5 people weren't sleeping (and there were only 20 people in the damn class). DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The lectures are death to your brain, monotone voice, and runs on tangents.
