He's not that hard. I didn't get an A but I am sure that if I had studied for the final I would have. His exams are basically just reactions. He's very very helpful and nice. I never went to his office hours and I think I should have, just to get to know him. He's easier on the 14 series kids than the 30 series kids, he even says that in the beginning of the quarter. For the final it does seem like he uses previous exam questions. He's new at this but he's not that hard, at least for the 14 series

Professor Karim was a great O-chem professor. While his lectures are rather boring, he really cares that his students understand the material. His tests are really straight forward. You really just need to study his old tests and practice tests and go to office hours, especially right before the exam. I got an A+ in the class by studying problems from his office hour, his old exams, and doing the problems he recommended. Just ask him to do reactions that he expects you to know and he will give you tons of reactions that allows you to do well on his exams. If you study those, you should do great. He is very approachable and really nice. I would recommend taking him.

I thought Karim's lectures were boring, and he tells you what he wants you to know, but it's mostly up to your own individual studying. The curve is like all other chem classes, so just be prepared to work hard on your own if you have Karim.

He is seriously one of the most available and approachable professors i have ever had. It might be because he's rather young and not too far out from being a student himself, but honestly he will go out of his way to help you do better. He is super nice and super helpful, even to the point where his office hours go way past the written times and he actually appologizes for kicking you out lol. I did not get an A, but that is because i was studying the material wrong. By the final i figured out what i was doing wrong and did pretty well on it, but not well enough to put me at an A. If you have the opportunity to take him, do yourself a favor and sign up. Karim over Hardinger anyday. He teaches the ochem you need for the MCAT, nothing more nothing less. Most people taking 14D are only doing it to fullfill a requirement, and he knows that. Therefore you can avoid all the useless ochem and learn what you need to know. He's a good guy. a+ for karim.
