This professor is really nice and he really does seem to try but his lectures aren't very helpful since he does read from the slides and with chemistry I feel like there is a necessity for the professor to be able to write on the board and demonstrate how they work out the problem rather than giving you the slide with all the work done on it. Moreover, he posts his slides beforehand so no one really goes to lecture anyways. Also, there was like a big lack of communication between the TAs and this professor so grading wasn't very clear to any of us and so I didn't really understand what was going on. This class only counts five quizzes and they only go up to week 7 so i stopped paying attention, did well on the quizzes, tanked the final but still got an A-. doesn't really make sense
Professor Arno is a nice person but doesn't know how to teach. Lectures would often be him reading the slides for 50 minutes. He posted the slides so there was no point in going to lecture. The last time I went the classroom was almost empty. It is better to just read the slides and study by yourself. Sometimes he would get confused with topics and made them harder.
There are weekly quizzes in discussion which are pretty easy if you study the lectures, with the option to correct them in order to improve your grade. The midterms were quite easy, and with the curve, I got this grade.
