Artur is incredible. He is clear, engaging, relatable, and overall an amazing educator. The class is really manageable and really interesting because it's so applicable. I'm taking Conley this quarter and I would go as far to say Artur is just as amazing.

I LOVE ARTUR!! He is such an amazing and approachable professor who truly cares about student learning. He is very personable and he handled the online transition (due to COVID19) very well and I think it reflects on his character very well. He is very honest and real and relateable. I wish he taught more classes:)

I actually had professor Deeds for this class but he isn't listed on bruinwalk and you have to have a teacher listed to submit a review. Professor Eric Deeds was totally awesome and probably my favorite professor so far in college. He's really enthusiastic, super nice, and a great teacher of the material because he completely understands it himself. I thought his lectures were well organized and explained in very clear terms. I highly recommend taking a class with professor Deeds. His office hours were very helpful and overall the class was pretty fair. I didn't think the material was too hard as long as you go to lecture and stay on top of homework assignments. If you have any high school experience in calc it'll be pretty smooth sailing and even if you don't honestly you could still figure out most everything pretty easily because there's not actually a crazy amount of calculus in the course. The first midterm was really easy, the second one was slightly harder but still pretty easy, and the final covered everything so it was a little harder but I'd still say as long as you study and feel comfortable with the material you'll do fine.

Although I did not get a good grade, part of it was on my end, personal issues, but I WOULD RECOMMEND to take this professor! I did not take calculus in highschool but I still managed to understand the concepts. The coding ranges from medium to hard, but other than that, this professor was really helpful and he is very engaging in lectures and funny at times. If he sees that most of the class is struggling on a certain topic/concept, he will review the topic/concept again until most of the class understands. This shows he truly cares about the students learning and offers many resources for the students to succeed in the class. I would def. retake this course again If i could.

Class was easy and I literally love Artur so much he is by far the coolest prof I’ve had so far!!

Artur did really well for his first quarter teaching! He's really passionate and is always willing to help out students if they're struggling. I highly recommend going to his office hours just to get to know him more! His homework is graded on participation (which is clutch) so you basically just need to pay attention to his lectures and take notes. I liked him so much as a professor I am taking him for LS30B this quarter and I am going to take LS40 with him next quarter as well.

If you already took calculus I would say you will do well in this class.

Artur tries to teach this class as if it isn't calculus which makes what he is teaching even more confusing. I eventually just starting going to class for the clicker questions (which are mandatory) and working on the homework in class.

The textbook is provided online but you must have a clicker for participation points.

There is one coding lab and one homework assignment due every week. The coding is based on correctness and the homework on completion.

Artur is very helpful during his office hours and explains the topics more in depth so I really recommend going to as many as you can!

This class was easy to me because I had a background in calculus and wasn't relying on him to actually teach the materials, however, if you don't have that background, I recommend taking this class with a different professor.

I took LS30A with Artur and it was his first time teaching the course, but in my opinion, he did an excellent job! He's pretty young but since day 1 he seemed very knowledgeable about the material and was always ready to answer questions. During lecture he always reviews the new material from the previous lecture, so the concepts blend together and it is easier to understand the context of what he's saying. The midterm and final were not bad at all, they were just like all of the practice midterms and finals that he posted on CCLE for the class to review with. The grading scheme is pretty fair, and even if you get a B/B- on the midterm and/or final, its still possible to get an A in the class just because of clicker points and homework. I would 10/10 recommend that you take Artur for this class or LS30B, which he also teaches.

For a first time professor, I thought that Artur did amazing. It seemed as though he had been teaching the course for years. His lectures were engaging and well-structured. At times, the coding can be difficult, but there are many opportunities to get help with it. He also is very attentive is his office hours, and I would strongly recommend going. There are often not that many people there, so you can clear up any questions about homework before it is due. I would say that the workload is manageable, but I wouldn’t recommend leaving labs and homework until the day they are due. His exams were challenging, but they were manageable. Overall a great professor and great person.

Throughout the quarter I actually really liked this class. Artur is super cool and a really great teacher. I always felt like I understood all the concepts and he was good about reviewing material from the previous class at the beginning of each new class. The homework wasn’t very hard but the coding sucksss. It’s actually the worst and I hated it. My TA was pretty useless but luckily my LA was able to help a lot. I’m not sure why we need to learn to code at all. Even though I never really got it and was actually pretty terrible at it, it wasn’t hard to get good grades on it. I actually considered this my easiest class this quarter which is why I was really surprised it was my lowest grade. I got perfect scores on all of the homework assignments, got full participation points and got nearly perfect lab scores. However, the tests are worth 65% of the whole class. The midterm is 25% and the final is 40%. I got a B on both and landed a B+ in the class. Make sure to study more than you think you’ll need to because Arthur’s tests were definitely harder than the practice tests he gave us from other teachers. So do be overconfident.
