Honestly, he is one of the worst professor I had in UCLA.
I have 3Bs in UCLA. This was the last quarter before summer session and I took 4 classes.
But this class was very last class and I knew how to study for science courses and I didn't really worry about this course on the first place. My thought towards this class was wrong.
Regardless how much effort you put into this class, you can't really prepare for the exam.
His previous exams do not help at all. You can't really prepare for his exam because he doesn't explain anything deep. Also, he brings new type of question that you were never exposed to. As a result, you can't really prepare in terms of exam question.
Studying lecture material is just good enough to answer first simple multiple choices regarding lectures. Also, his poor exam system separates A and B students.
Since most questions were multiple choice and there were problems meant to get wrong, students had to choose the answer without any educational guess and people who were lucky got A.

I got A or A- for all mcdb classes. Maybe, he wasn't right professor for me.

Probably one of the most boring classes I’ve taken in my time at UCLA. On a personal level the professor is really nice and is a great researcher but for the class he probably should not teach because he seems to have no desire at all. Gives very minimal effort to teach with lectures disorganized and office hours a waste of time. Walking away doing well I can say it is an easy class to get through and do well in but for those wanting to get their moneys worth for education with their time at UCLA take someone else.

Really nice guy. One of those professors not out to get you since he does have a nice grading curve. But be aware that even though his curve is nice doesn't mean you don't have to study for this class. I thought his tests were hard, most people did and a lot of people studied pretty hard for his tests. But because everyone studied the averages were high. The final had a 75% median and one one person got the high of 91%. That means 50% of the class fell between those scores and about 35% of those (I think) got an A so you really have to do well on the tests anyway because I got 85% on one midterm and my friend who got an 81% test score on that midterm was ranked 15% lower among the class. Nonetheless, he's still a much better professor with regards to grading than I've heard of the other mcdb 144 professor. Good luck!

He's a nice and caring professor. He's exams are relatively difficult but he was lenient on grading and he grades on a curve! 50% of the class got B- or above. You will have a quiz for every discussion section on a paper that was assigned a week before. Also you'll be required to do a group presentation on one of the assigned readings. Overall, he's a great professor and highly recommended
