Professor Knowlton seems like a perfectly nice lady, however taking psych 15 with her was not a great experience. Like everyone else says, her lectures don't matter, you pretty much need to just memorize the book. If you are looking for an easy GE to take you might want to look elsewhere if she is the professor. If you are genuinly interested in the subject you still might want to wait until there is a better professor teaching the class. Her test are contain obscure questions from the book. Instead of asking you about the disorder that someone in a case study in the book has, she will ask you the name of the person who had the disorder and there will be multiple choice answers. I kid you not.

Professor Knowlton is a cool professor. Her lectures are interesting and she really knows what she is talking about. There are only about 10 out of 50 questions from the lecture on the exam. If you want to get an A you have to memorize the book! She tests on minute details. If you are interested in the brain then you will have no problem getting an A because the material is incredible!!! I loved this class and I didn't sell my book back because it was so interesting. Take Knowlton.

Don't know why Knowlton is getting so trashed! I loved psych 15; it was really interesting. The textbook Knowlton uses is great, and she's a really nice, effective professor.

If you're thinking of taking this class as GE requirement... PLEASE!!! find some other life science class. I went to class 4 times: first day, first midterm, second midterm, final. Yet I received not too bad of a grade because I studied so much. If you're a type of person who doesn't like to go to lecture but can sit down for a long time reading the smallest bits of details possible out of 500 pages book, this is the class for you. Her lecture is straight out of the book, which is worthless to mention since the test, as well, is straight out of the textbook.

Psych 15 is the absolute worst class I have ever taken. Professor Knowlton is an ineffective teacher who, at the lectures, teaches straight out of the book. Going to lecture is a waste of time. Then, on the tests, to get a good grade you must memorize EVERY minute detail in the book- it is absolutely ridiculous. The TA is also awful. Don't take this class unless you're really really interested in the subject and are willing to memorize the entire textbook on your own- don't count on any help from class or the professor.

I didn't think the class was worthwhile to me at all. I took the class as a GE fulfillment and that was a HUGE mistake. Some of the concepts on the tests weren't even in the book. I fell asleep in almost all the lectures I actually went to and you don't even need to go to lecture to get a good grade on the tests.

Oh my, oh my. This is by far one of the worst courses I have ever taken. The tests don't reflect anything that the woman teaches in class. If you can easily memorize obscure little details hidden within the book, maybe this is the class for you. THIS CLASS SHOULD ONLY BE OFFERED TO STUDENTS PREPING FOR MED SCHOOL. This is NOT a good class.

Never ever ever take Psych 15, Intro to Psychobiology. It is the worst class ever unless you have a memory like Will in "Good Will Hunting." To get a decent grade on the tests you must memorize every minute detail in every section of the book. Concepts will get you nowhere. And going to lecture is a complete waste of time, since she lectures directly from the book all the time. Believe me, I went to all classes before the first test and got a C. I didn't go to class at all before the second test and got a C+. My grade actually improved by not going to her lecture!
