Ok I don't know why all the haters are coming in and. tanking her reviews, this was genuinely the easiest class to get an A or an A+ in.... THERE IS 4% extra credit?? Do not listen to the reviews that are negative.

Reasons why this class is the best without all the fluff:

1. One midterm is dropped, and the first midterm is based off literally 5 lectures. If you go to town studying for that that's an easy A right there. I never spent more than 2-3 hours studying for either midterm, and I didn't read the textbook (she puts about 1-3 textbook Q on each test section).

2. Did I mention 4 % extra credit? Come on if you are getting lower than a B without the extra credit... what are you doing..

3. She does NOT rush???? Who is lying about THAT. She only uses 1 hour of the time slot... she lets us go.. early?

4. She is the sweetest professor ever. She is so funny during lectures too.

5. Lecture not mandatory, recordings available.

6. The tests were so fair. Review your slides 3-4 times, and use the practice questions that we create as a class, and guess what you will get an A! You actually have to put in like 50% effort to get an A in this class, and ITS SUPER FUN AND INTERESTING .\

I will not tolerate this hate. I never leave reviews but for people to come say bad things is crazy and a reflection of their poor work ethic

Overall, I think this is an interesting class that can be hard at times. Prof. Callaghan is a great instructor, but some of the exams questions can be very tricky. The class offers one final and two midterms, but only the higher-scored midterm would count towards the final grade (so only one midterm and one final would count for the final grade). There's four percents of extra credits offered, which is pretty nice. The lectures are mostly engaging (and are recorded!), Prof. Callaghan showed us a lot of cute children videos and stories of her child, and she is happy to clarify anything that she wasn't clear about in the lectures either after class or during office hours. But again, I do want to restate that some of the exam questions are tricky. I think if you are aiming for a general A-range, this class would be fairly easy, but if you are aiming for A or even A+, it's gonna require a lot of effort. Still, I enjoyed this class a lot and would recommend other people taking it.

I cannot begin to explain the amount of hatred I grew for this subject. When I came in, I was so hopeful to get deeper into the development route, but the more I was in this class, the more I dreaded the path. The content itself was not the issue; the professor genuinely talked so fast and threw so many ages at you in a non-chronological order. In addition to this, the first exam was so biology-based that most of the class did horrible. I do not recommend taking it with her, but with another professor, I am sure you would love it.

This was one of my favorite classes and professors at UCLA. Wonderful instruction, I think the class is arranged perfectly to motivate students to actually learn the material.
