BEST CLASS EVER! IF YOU HAVE ROOM TAKE IT!

This class is probably the most useful class in the world. You learn about a bunch of stuff about college life, how to get involved on campus, how to study like a high achiever, etc. All the lectures are interesting and the TA's are super nice. I had Anthony Bediones as my TA (whatsup anthony!) and he was super awesome and made discussions pretty interesting. There are weekly journals and a final paper that's like 8 pages long, but they're super easy and if you put in any kind of effort, you'll get an A. Even though most people take this class as a whatever A, it's actually really helpful to understand and participate.

Only thing I wouldn't like about this class was that I had to wake up super early. Nearing midterms and finals, I hated going to this class.

He is an amazing professor at UCLA. He truly cares for students' success at UCLA. On the day of discussion, he comes and open the door for you and he approaches students, allowing students to get to know him and to spark a conversation with him. His lectures are interesting and engaging. If you want to hone your academic skill and add up units, I highly recommend this class. And lastly, discussions are fun!

A ridiculous amount of work for a 2 unit lower division class. In fact, I had to check again to see that this class was only worth 2 units. Sure, they work all consists of EASY busy work but seriously come on. Here is the breakdown:
10: 2 page essays takes maybe 30 minutes to write each.
1: 2 page essay about a event you attended
1: 8 page term paper.
weekly readings.

a 2 unit class. uh. ok. my other 2 unit class we have a 2 page paper for the WHOLE quarter.

weekly class discussions are chill and even fun depending on which TA you get. So would I recommend this class? Sure! You'll most likely get an A but just be prepared. Its easy in terms of how little they expect but its hard in terms of fitting this 2 unit class' work with the rest of your hectic schedule.

I had Bruce for EDU 92F and he is truly amazing! The class is one that every student should take at some point during their UCLA career. There are weekly readings that you pre-read for class, but they are all really interesting. Each week you write a weekly journal for your discussion section, which is usually a reflection on your week and the article that you discussed the week before. It's a great 2 unit class, you learn a lot from a really great professor who cares so much about his students.

I LOVED this class, even though it was at 9 a.m. every Monday. The material was so interesting, and it really makes you think. Professor Barbee is such an amazing lecturer, and you can really tell that he has passion for promoting undergraduate success. He's sort of like a grandfather figure, someone you can talk to about anything and he's SO funny. But also, this class really makes you try harder in your classes. I would definitely recommended it to any student at UCLA.

I learned a lot from this class and many of the topics Professor Barbee discussed were quite interesting. I admit he can be boring at times but other than that if you do the readings and pay attention in lecture you should be find. Also, the TA's for this class I noticed, are somewhat immature from my own personal experience. While I'm sure there were a few good TA's, the two that I had, Wendy and Jazmin, were not as well prepared or efficient as I had hoped. If you can try to avoid them because they seem to be offended by people with opinions opposing to their own!! Anyways, that class is ok.

Wow. Bruce is amazing! His Education 92F class, while easy to pass, has been extremely helpful. I learned so much and Dr. Barbee is an awesome teacher and awesome guy. If you don't get the opportunity to take a class with him at least try to go find him in a workshop at Covel Commons.

I took Professor Barbee for Education 92F and loved it! Very interesting class that I got a lot out of. Also a very easy A.

Note that attendance is part of the grade, and you will need to attend every lecture/discussion for full credit.

Aww I love this guy. He made me think and realize that I can make it here at UCLA. Although he is old, he still is able to connect his experiences with the ones we are having right now. I loved having section for this class because it was a great way to release my drama. I got to make friends or at least be able to talk in a class. I feel he gave me the tools I needed to get my act together for the next quarter.

Truly, a very relaxing and interesting course. He really cares about student learning as is the topic of the whole class. All his TA's are very caring and understanding. Absolutely no stress comes with this class. Definite A if you do the work, which is like 10 minute journals once a week. No midterm and a final paper that is not hard to write.
