Professor Normore is an incredibly knowledgeable guy who makes the subject he is speaking about engaging simply because he can explain so much in an efficient way. He is, however, very disorganized and unreliable outside of class. Plus, do not expect to get any grades back in a timely fashion. If only his grading system were as efficient as his lecturing style.

great guy. so so nice. he was just such an all around smart, nice guy. i cant say enough nice things about him. at the final, he passed around food and oj for us. the material can be confusing and a little tough, but its not too bad, and if you keep up with the reading, you should do fine. he breaks down the material and posts all of his lectures online. the midterms and finals are fair, but word of warning: watch for your TA!!!! jessie isnt the greatest.

Prof. Normore is an incredibly caring, charming, and intelligent guy. His lectures are good, though he can be difficult to follow at times because he talks like he writes- scholarly and dense. He definitely ties the reading and the lectures together, and I guarantee that if you do the reading you will understand his lectures much more. At the end of the quarter he does an excellent job of tying everything together and drawing connections between everything learned in class. Early on, some people were put off by his stuttering, but you don't notice it as much as the class the progresses and you discover how much knowledge he has to offer. I also had an honors section with him, and I could see that with less people, he is more relaxed and funny. He is caring in that he cares both about his students' learning and welfare. He regularly posted class information, lecture notes, and streaming audio clips of the actual lectures on the class website. Before the final he held a review session despite the fact that he was sick. The honors section was pretty late, and Prof. Normore had no problem with ordering and paying for pizza for all 20-30 of us. During the final he had all sorts of food and drinks available, and was passing them around. Overall, Prof. Normore is an excellent professor, and as long as you keep up with the work, you can do well in the class.

This professor is the best. If you ever get a chance, you need to take him. I had him for philosophy 6 and the honors section. He is the nicest, most caring professor i have ever met. The best thing about him is that he is great at teaching, he lectures well, very well organized. (this is a big deal because a lot of the philosophy professors i have had are HORRIBLE lecturers) The class isnt easy, mainly because so much material is covered, but you learn so many interesting things, you actually want to learn and not just work for a grade.
