This class in nature contains difficult content that can be hard to understand at first and/or require a lot of outside study. However, the difficulty and overall environment of this class is worsened significantly by the teaching methods and disposition of professor Morales-Guio. The homework is lengthy and difficult but doable if you can space out chunks of time throughout the week dedicated to it. Lectures were generally hard to follow and unengaging with handwritten slides that would require a lecture recording to be made useful as most explanations were only verbal. I believe the main issue with this class lies with the professor's seeming discontent with his students, with examples in publicly calling out individuals for not paying attention or spending class time describing the economics of what it costs everyone in California to "pay for" the students to attend this class. Overall, the tone of this class was set and maintained to be semi-hostile and as a result created a difficult learning environment. This class is by no means the worst possible outcome for the subject matter, but there is certainly room for improvement.
