Fall 2025 - This was such a nice and easy class. Professor Gomez is definitely the best professor you could get for Eng Comp 3. 75% of the assignments are based on completion, which is incredible for cushioning your grade. There are only two essays written within the quarter, but they are graded harshly. I received a provisional grade of B- on one of my drafts and then visited the UWC, I met with Professor Gomez himself, then I revised the paper for at least a week alone and only got a B. There are lots of readings assigned to talk about in class—you don't need to really read them. Besides the Wood ones, you can absolutely skim them; there aren't assignments based on them, and if at least someone in the class answers first, you can usually piggyback off of what they say. The papers are left for you to customize with what you are interested in, which helps make writing less painful. Overall, he is a very nice and accommodating professor who just wants students who are engaged and care.
