I've never written a review on bruinwalk before but I just had to write one for Professor Grijalva. He was honestly the kindest, most approachable, caring, intellectual professor all in one! His class and the assigned reading are so interesting that you forget it's a requirement because you enjoy it so much! This class along with Matt Lieberman's Social Psychology class are by far my favorite so far at UCLA. I recommend this class to anyone who would like to fulfill their elective requirement. I can almost 100% guarantee that you will not regret taking Prof. Grijalva's class. His exams were very fair so don't even worry about not doing well in the class.

I thought Professor Grijalva was a very good teacher. The material was interesting and he went at a normal pace (unlike most courses at UCLA which cover a large amount of material in a short amount of time). Grijalva is a nice guy. He encourages students to ask questions in class and the workload was very manageable. His tests were fair and most people do very well on them. The class consisted of 2 midterms, a short presentation + class participation, and a 8-10 page research paper on a topic of your choice relating to stress and disease. I really enjoyed this class.

Fantastic professor! He is very gentle and soft-spoken but VERY approachable and concerned about your learning. He is very available and really seems to love his work. The class, needless to say, is truly interesting stuff. His tests are almost TOO fair. They are comprised of MC, short answer, fill-in, and short essay. Sounds scary, but they are really straightforward and dare I say, fun. Tests are straight from his lectures and the book (which was really fun to read - "Why Zebras Don\355t Get Ulcers"). Great class and great professor....highly recommended!
