I would highly recommend this class not only as a GE, but also as a place of discussion to truly unravel how music connects to, builds, and realizes identity. The highlight of this course was definitely Professor Provenzano; as a person, she is lovely and radiant; as a professor, she is truly passionate about music and components of such. I found this course very engaging; while lectures were long, they were fun, interesting, and snazzy. One of the days we literally played Phoebe Bridgers and I was like oh shiiii this is awesome. My only complaint was that the assignments and midterm took actually forever to get graded (our midterm was graded like 2 days before final grades were due. In short, I heart Catherine Provenzano. She reminds me of a mix of the cool woman from Tar and Greta Gerwig. Professor is a pharb. Take it!
