Professor Carpenter was a great teacher in my perspective. She really cared about the students learning the content instead of memorizing the content. I took this class without having taken Life Science 7A or 7C, but it was a pretty easy class since she explains everything so well. You don't need to buy a single book for this class, only a software called physio which you will use to do the labs which were so annoying for my friends and I to do just because they were so long but not to worry google is there to help. Her exams are pretty straight forward too, just go to the lectures and you will be good to go. She is so funny and she goes off on people if you ask a question thats all. Good luck!

The course material is easy to digest and organized. However, god forbid you to have a question to ask Professor Carpenter. If you ask a question and she doesn't a) immediately understand what you're asking or b) it's not a clarification question, she will EXPLODE!
She went off on a lot of students for asking very valid questions in class. She accuses you of wanting points back on a test if you want an explanation regarding an exam question, even if you just want to know why you got it wrong.
Asking the TAs for support isn't really helpful either, but maybe your TAs will change. As long as you're a wizard on Google and can get help from there, this class should be fine. But if you're someone who needs to ask a lot of questions in class to comprehension, this is NOT the class for you.
Her tests are fair and she is very transparent about what will be on it. She makes good analogies in class that really helped with my understanding of certain concepts. She has some very peculiar quirks (slapping the table, going off about UC Berkeley, talking about how hard it is to be a professor, SEQUESTRATION!!, humble bragging), but overall, she's not bad.
