Professor McLean is nice, but beware that she can get very nit-picky for the submitting individual assignments. I had one slightly off-putting experience when I went to office hours. To be fair, I think she was fed up because she had such a big line outside of her door, but she also said that happens every time for these specific assignments, so she knew to expect it. I felt like she got kind of rude and unwilling to even heard me out. For example, she got fed up several times that something was missing, and each time, I pointed out that the information she wanted was actually there the whole time, and she didn't really care and kept bagging on it. I ended up getting a good great on that assignment though, so it's not too big of a deal- again, I think I just caught her on a bad day, but it still threw me off. Make sure you pick a good group because the group project at the end is the biggest part of your grade. She also made it seem like most of the class assignments will be with the group and build up to create the IMC plan, but it didn't end up that way (not a big deal- just something I noticed). The midterm and final are multiple choice and super easy. I found the class content very interesting, and I enjoyed it overall.

Awesome Professor! The work is super manageable, even if you leave it to the last minute. For a six-week course, I never felt overwhelmed with the modules as each week you work on a creative project associated with your make believe brand. Professor Mclean provides you with everything you need to succeed and get an A such as recorded lectures, slides, and student examples from the past for the week's project. Trust me, take this class. I was not a communications major and took this as an elective for HBS and do not regret taking this class for summer.

I loved this class, and I loved this professor. There were definitely times at the beginning of the quarter where it was a a lot of work, but thats just because I took it during C-Sesh Instead of a normal quarter. Totally doable class, and very interesting content. The class is paced out by the professor, so if you are looking for a class that you can do at your own pace, as fast or as slow throughout the quarter, this is not the one since there are about 3-4 assignments due at the end of the week every single week.
