Pretty easy GE class. There's discussion, 'pop' quizzes in discussion section, 2 papers, midterm, and final. Class is super doable!

Readings are so important!! It's so hard to bullshit the papers if you haven't read. He references a lot of the readings during lecture and it gets kind of confusing if you haven't at least skimmed his passages. Midterm and final is decent, as long as you've read and gone to section you'll do fine. He gives out 'hints' of what will be on the midterm/final during section as well! They're almost verbatim from the questions he gives out. There's also bonus questions for extra credit, as well as a 1 pg extra credit paper.

Material is not hard, mostly a memorization based class.

Easy class, just take notes on musicians and their respective instruments. Go to discussion, it really helps. My TA David condensed most of the lecture during his section and made it really easy to remember names. Definitely recommend him as a TA. All assignments are straightforward, tests too.

Harrison obviously cares a lot about the material and usually makes it interesting to learn, it's an easy A as long as you take notes in lecture and learn all the names of composer and musicians. Don't bother buying the textbook, you won't need it. Course reader is helpful for writing papers.
