I've taken this every quarter lol I LOVE PROFESSOR LI <3
She will help you with literally anything and is very kind. Do not be afraid to ask questions or clarify, because even if her English is not the best she will not give up explaining until you get it :) She is very cool and I wish she was my grandma.

I just love the class! We have 2 pieces, one folk song and one TV series song.
The folk song is easier and really characteristics. The TV song is Jiu Gan Tang Mai Wu, quite fast and long in terms of beginner's class. Prof Chi Li explains the story behind each song. The TV one is really moving and great for Father's Day.

There is a concert in the end. Being the stage manager is fun!

Would definitely suggest leaving at least 1 hour of practice per week, but easy A overall.

I love Professor Li, as she is the most engaging and caring professor I have ever met in UCLA. A lot of people take this class to receive the easy credits since it's an instrument class, and she obviously doesn't like the people who don't want to participate or do a horrible job at doing easy things. However, if she knows you are an engaging student who want to learn as well, she becomes incredibly warm to you. I am very much interested in Music, and would show her my own creation. She would actually use her own spare time and give me some suggestions on my projects.

If you want to take her class for easy A and easy credit, sure, she will not fail you, however, if you really do enjoy the subject of Chinese Ensemble and is an engaging student, then by all means, this class offers you a home, and she is the best thing you can happen to you in UCLA.
