Fall 2023 - Chris Newman is THE expert on the triumphs and faults of the immigration movement over the past 20 years. While the class requires a short essay per week, and there is no BruinLearn course page, the weekly lectures and class discussions make up for any complaints you could have. He is more than thoughtful, very funny, and cares tremendously for the well-being of his students. I also enjoyed the guest speakers he had come to visit the class. I would take it again.
