I took this course in 2009 and was very lucky in this class to have a wonderful TA by the name of Madeline Galagher who took on all the responsibilities of educating and organization. It was shocking and upsetting to see the verbal abuse he directed towards her and other women. I heard him tell her she would never amount to anything. Many young women were victimized, verbally abused, and humiliated publicly. During a screening of our coursework he made a point to put people down after they showed vulnerability and bravery. He may have gone through something in the past to make his behavior as such but he 100% abused his power as an educator and role model. I heard some men had positive experiences with him but I was traumatized for years after. I hope in a more compassionate generation universities will consider human decency as a requirement.
