Winter 2025 - Wegemer is an extremely passionate and engaging lecturer! He encourages interaction and has a clear investment in the topic that makes even "boring" lectures feel at minimum digestible. Topics discussed often weave between some common sense understanding and technical/terminology heavy ways of investigating networks. Any math involved is very minimal and fairly intuitive. There are 6 homeworks over the course, some more intensive than others, a midterm, and a final. He provides plenty of study material for each and the TAs are extremely helpful as well ! great class especially as an often requisite course!!

Spring 2024 - I'm surprised this class doesn't already have good reviews. If you want to learn how to use R in social science research, TAKE THIS CLASS! Prof Wegemer is the best and this class is definitely manageable. Discussion attendance is mandatory but lectures are fully recorded. Wegemer is so sweet and this class helps give you a strong R background for future research. All exams are multiple choice and because of the disruptions this quarter he changed his grading scheme to boost our grades where possible.
