Winter 2025 - Wegemer is an extremely passionate and engaging lecturer! He encourages interaction and has a clear investment in the topic that makes even "boring" lectures feel at minimum digestible. Topics discussed often weave between some common sense understanding and technical/terminology heavy ways of investigating networks. Any math involved is very minimal and fairly intuitive. There are 6 homeworks over the course, some more intensive than others, a midterm, and a final. He provides plenty of study material for each and the TAs are extremely helpful as well ! great class especially as an often requisite course!!

Spring 2025 - I cannot stress enough, if you have the chance to take Prof Wegemer please do. He is amazing, his lectures are all recorded and you are allowed to miss about 6 classes and still receive full attendance credit. He is very lenient with exam grades, he doesn't curve but (depending on how people do on the exam) he is willing to weigh them to your benefit. For example, if you did better on the final the final was weighted more. The content itself is intimidating and (not gonna lie) pretty difficult but Prof Wegemer really took time and made it easier to understand. He encourages to use of AI to help with your learning, I recommend using it to make you test exams and to help explain concepts that are still difficult. There are 6 hw assignments, they will take a lot of time and effort, so be prepared to spend hours on them. Exams are largely conceptual, so make sure you understand key concepts of statistics. If you have the chance to take him for an easier class (like 111) you must, but even with this more difficult class, he was still great. You don't find professor this good<3
