Quarter: Winter 2017
Grade: A-
June 20, 2017

This was my first upper division course for math. I found the class to be easier than I expected, but still quite challenging. Wang teaches straight from the textbook which has its advantages and disadvantages. Most of the homework and exam questions come straight from the book so in that regard you are never completely blindsided on homeworks or exams. The downside is that there is little reason to go to class. On some topics just reading the textbook instead of listening to her lecture would be a better use of your time. As for office hours, Wang likes to send you off to another student that is usually just as lost as you are and forces you to work together. She really dislikes working directly with you and often gives a brief explanation to a problem leaving you still confused. After putting in a decent amount of work I got an A-, so at the end of the day I would still recommend Wang as you can still get a good grade with enough work.

Professor Wang is the best math teacher I have ever met in UCLA. She explained the material really clear. Her exam is not hard as long as you listen to her lecture carefully and do the homework.
