this professor posts fake reviews. his score is far lower than what it is now, and somehow, a few of my reviews were taken down... this guy is not a good professor. as other reviews indicated, he picks favorites. if you are not among the chosen few, you will not be getting an A. no matter how well you do. sorry. also, he was very passive aggressive in any emails he replied to, if he replied at all. often times I would send an email following up on something, and he wouldn't respond and would instead post an announcement to the entire class, and then reply after saying "go look at the announcement". overall was not that nice of a professor, readings were hard and a tad excessive, he picked favorites, and he would say some slightly controversial things in class. would not recommend. only take this class if you absolutely have to (or any class with him for that matter).
Easiest A+ in the department!
Well-balanced course overall and I got by without completing all of the readings. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend Trojan’s courses, the negatives reviews you see are completely false. The material is completely digestible to understand and Trojan is very approachable!
One of my favorite classes at UCLA with the kindest professor. It simply takes some effort on your part to do well and he provides the resources you need to succeed. Don’t listen to the negative reviews on here, I seriously don’t know why people do that. This is my fourth time taking Trojan and he’s a genuine professor who made this course worth taking.
Trojan does a poor job of really detailing what he wants from you. If you can't spend time following him out of class to talk and going to office hours, it will probably be tough.
Worst professor I've encountered so far during my time at UCLA. He and his TA are harsh graders and will easily deduct points and will not provide useful or helpful feedback and will instead be vague and confusing if there is actual written feedback, and will not provide where the points were deducted from. The interventions (mini-essays) were graded and the TA provided a rubric with highlights of why they likely cut points but did not explain exactly where the problem was, preventing us from learning from our mistakes for the next intervention. They also take forever to grade and by the time they finish grading the intervention, you would most likely have already finished with your other one. Also, the course reader that is used in this was very expensive being over a hundred dollars, including taxes, and is honestly not worth it because you could find the articles online. Overall, my experience in this class was very unpleasant and I would never take another course with this professor again unless I had no other choice. I would recommend taking this class only as an absolute last resort.
