The class was pretty straightforward for me. The concepts are easy to learn but try and do the readings because that will help you REALLY understand the concepts of the class. The class has two midterms each worth 25 percent. One in TA sections(ALL Key terms: which he gives you a list of around 35 and tests you on 4 or 5 of them). The second part is a take home essay that wasn't bad at all. (Worth 25 percent). Also the TA I had( Derpanopoulos) was kind of a hard grader but if you go to lecture and do some of the readings, you will be fine. The final was fair and is pretty much based on the second half of the class. Overall, this class is a good class to take and you should do well!
167C Political Development
One of the most interesting classes I have ever taken at UCLA. The midterm and finals are very clear with what is on them before, so you know what to study (and you actually have to know your stuff)
Posner really wants you to learn. he is a great lecturer who picks great TAs (ruth was really helpful). the weekly questions keep you in the loop in case you miss a reading or two.
