Professor Dover is very passionate in what she does and I do enjoy the overall structure of the class. In essence, throughout the whole quarter you read the book The Republic by Plato. Upon reading each week, Dover goes through and talk more about what the readings mean and important arguments that it raises. There isn't really a midterm, but there is 3 reading responses in which you relate the book to your life, experiences, movies, etc., and then there a final project which is a paper dialogue. I think overall, it was a pretty standard class, I would say you should read the book because it really helps on the reading responses and the final dialogue paper because you do need to understand what Plato argues in the book.
