Dr. Campbell is really nice and approachable, but I just cannot get over how terrible his slides were. They made me want to pull my hair out because they were so vague... if you don't take very articulate notes, you will definitely be listening to the podcast again in order to make sure you heard every word. Thankfully it IS podcasted, though. His slides were so weird though... grammatically incoherent sometimes and they would contain a picture of a gel and say words like "vertical", "sensitivity", or "high throughput". WITH NO OTHER CONTEXT lol I kid you not.
Other than that, he's decent. Definitely monotone and can kind of stammer on about things that seem unimportant...
The first midterm was solely written by him, and it was TOUGH. There was not enough time at all, I don't think anyone finished, and some of the questions were so obscure. But thankfully the second half of the course is taught by Johnson, so you get a break.
This class was low-key hard. I did better in Immunology than this one. It's cool but be prepared to study.
*ls3
I took his class in spring 2014 and got an A. His tests are straightforward for the most part, but there are a few that are impossible for most people, like there's only one way to prepare for them and that is test bank plain and simple. If you know these difficult problems and the master all the basic stuff you're good to go. He tests just from slides so don't bother with the book at all. Just memorize every little tiny piece of every single slide and you will get an A.
