Professor is really good and caring.
You should go to lectures because there are clicker question.
Midterm and final is all free response question.
I do not recommend this class if you are not biology major.

Do attend lectures, since there are clicker questions that go toward your participation grade.

Otherwise, the class is great if you're a science major looking for a social GE. Most of the material is science-oriented so anyone with a LS background should find it pretty easy. Although she doesn't curve, there is ample extra credit offered on the midterm and final. Beware of her retroactive grading policy, though, but I personally didn't find it a problem.

Her lectures aren't boring at all; her English is great and her lecture style is fairly lively. She likes to encourage the class to participate, too. She's a nice person to talk to during office hours as well.

All in all, if you want a GE that's informative, exciting, and relatively easy with some work, then MCDB 50 with Prof. Lee will not disappoint.

One of my favorite professors. She takes time to get to know the students and knew most peoples' names, in a 100 person class. I went into the class thinking I would hate it and I ended up loving it. Definitely go to lecture because she has clicker questions/ participation points. Great teacher and she's really easy to talk to. I also agree with the person before, her tests are not bad at all, but I got A's on both the midterm and final but got a B+ in the class because of participation, so GO TO CLASS.

One of the most interesting and best classes here at UCLA.

The class is easy, ALTHOUGH it is IS graded like a GE. Meaning stupid attendance, weekly assignments, etc.

Very good class though, and easy midterms and finals with lots of extra credit.

If you were looking for a GE that won't bore you to death, here it is. Take it.
