I'm a PhySci major, so this class was definitely out of my comfort zone. I ended up really enjoying a lot of it. The plays we watched and read were very entertaining. It was mostly modern. There is quite a bit of reading, and we posted on a discussion board twice a week. We also had two 3-4 page essays and the final exam was only 40 question, multiple choice and T/F. It took me all of nine minutes to finish. The discussion posts and the essays were graded by the TA. My TA was very lenient on grading. Overall, I enjoyed the class and would recommend it if you're looking to satisfy a GE. I definitely have a new appreciation for theater.
I am selling the course reader if anyone needs it. Text at **********

Take this class for your visual and performing arts GE! I took it during summer and the work was manageable with discussion posts due Friday night and a reply to your classmates on Sunday. There were two quizzes per week based on the lectures and readings, but they weren't difficult at all. Your lowest quiz score is dropped. Also, you have a 1500 word paper on a prompt of your choosing, but as everyone has pointed out thus far, super easy! Great GPA boost and I found both the Professor and TAs to be pretty helpful.

This is an easy, asynchronous, manageable GE with a lot of weekly busy work. Each week, you must watch lecture recordings, read articles, post on discussion boards, reply to one, and take a weekly quiz. Sometimes, you are also required to watch the screening. The organization is excellent, and the contents are interesting. However, I hope Theater 10 will give more exposure and opportunities to engage with the theater community. For example, there should be an extra credit for watching the live theater and possibly writing a reflection about it, etc. Nevertheless, this class would be a good GE to take!

Maybe the best GE at UCLA. If you're c-seshing, 100% take this class. Its Less than an hour of work a week. Lectures are the most boring yap-fest of all time, but luckily you don't have to watch a single one. There's 2 weekly quizzes that are open note, so you can just command F the questions in the lecture transcript or assigned readings to find answers (or use other web tools). Discussion posts are 200 words and they give full credit for everything. The essay is super chill too, they just spoonfed everyone a 98%. 12 quizzes, 6 discussion posts, and 1 essay, all basically guaranteed full credit. Take this class you won't regret it.

This class was super easy and interesting. As long as you do the readings, and watch the screenings and lectures, you should do fine on the quizzes. Quizzes were all multiple choice that were very straightforward. The final was an 1500-2000 essay that was relatively simple. Take this class if you want a fairly light workload and easy GE!!!

The professor took what could have been a very boring topic (the basics of theater study/history) and made it engaging with many clips and examples.

It's a super chill and easy class to take. Apart from one essay, we only have to do one discussion post and 1-2 quizzes on the material every week. This class is VERY manageable. I also found the lectures to be very engaging, and you do have to go through all the lectures/videos/readings to do well on the weekly quizzes. We did not need a textbook.
