"When I took him, I thought he would be a walk in the park, just like the previous two physics classes. I ended up with an A- in the class (my only A- in my undergraduate career). "

so you're telling me that you've graduated from UCLA (seeing as how you're done with your undergraduate work) and decided to come back and give Schriver a negative review the week of class enrollment? seems 100% legit.

lol @ the dipsh!t who said Schriver doesn't teach well at all and that, if you take him for 6c, you won't be prepared for the MCAT. LOL...i hope nobody is stupid enough to fall for your tricks, you competitive assmuncher. physics on the MCAT is cake compared to anything you'll ever take in a college level class. if you take 6c with even the shittiest possible UCLA professor, you'd still be in okay shape for the MCAT.

completely agree with the post below me.

A very, very, VERY small number of people who are posting reviews a YEAR after they took the class are legit. Who the **** decides to review their 6c professor from last year? nobody, that's who.

anyone defending those suspicious comments are either a) extremely gullible or b) the people who posted them originally

i'll reiterate: it is NOT A COINCIDENCE that Schriver's only negative review are coming the week of class sign-ups.

One thing about those negative reviews that make them really skeptical is that the reviewers are offering Niemann and Gutperle as alternatives. What a coincidence? Both of them are teaching for the next quarter.

I don't know about him being hard or not, but Schriver definitely is not as easy as people say he is, and the grade distribution shown is definitely not accurate.

The person two comments below me may be skeptical, but Schriver is not easy and not hard. When I took him, I thought he would be a walk in the park, just like the previous two physics classes. I ended up with an A- in the class (my only A- in my undergraduate career).

The class does take a lot of time, and you do need to put in a lot of work. If you're one of the students who likes to cram a week before a test, the class probably isn't for you. A lot of my friend took Gutperle (not sure if that's right), and they seemed pleased with him. He also does not teach very well, so if you're pre-med and looking to take the MCAT anytime soon, you won't be prepared AT ALL.

I wouldn't recommend him. Take him only if you really have to... the reviews given (both good and bad) are not accurate reviews of his class from last spring. Oh yeah, and his final is fucking ridiculous (not fair, and a total curve ball compared to his midterms.

The comments below are not labeling Schriver with negative reviews...They are simply saying don't get cocky and take the class expecting an A...It's still a UCLA class with about 300 premed students enrolled in it. I think it is a good reminder for everyone to keep their guard up and work hard without slacking off.

To the commentator below: calm down brah. I'm sure they took the class last spring but since younger friends asked them about him they ended up warning other bruins. Chill out and just talk the class. The material is pretty mellow~

*** Notice the two comments below mine were both posted on 2/13/13? Yeah, me too. Notice how they're the ONLY TWO NEGATIVE REVIEWS about Schriver? Yeah, me too! Notice how they decided to post a year after they supposedly took Schriver's class (he didn't teach 6C during Fall/Winter of this year)?
Sheeeit, me too! Does anyone REALLY believe it's a coincidence that the only two negative reviews of Schriver pop up the week of class sign-ups? I sure as hell hope not.

And to the people posting that crap...pathetic haha.

I read so many good reviews about this professor and decided to take him last spring. In the fall, I took 6A and got an A+ fairly easily. In the winter, I took 6B and got an A. I thought taking Schriver in the spring would produce similar results but they absolutely did not...

I am not sure where the grade distribution is from... he must have changed over the years or something.

If you're taking this class because you think it's going to be an easy A, don't do it. You're definitely making a mistake. If you care about your GPA AT ALL, don't take it. His tests are confusing, wordy, and require extensive manipulations.

Take it with niemann or over the summmer if you really want a good experience.
