In all honesty, Professor Schriver is definitely the best science professors I've had at UCLA. He teaches well, writes straightforward exams, grades fairly, and is very approachable. Take him if you can! He even has review sessions for his tests!

Dr. Schriver is an amazing professor. His lectures are very straight forward. In order to do well in his class there are three things you need to do: 1)Show up to the class, and take notes of his lectures, because the exams are designed based on the formulas and the topics that he discusses in the class (He skips some sections of each chapter, so it is easier to study his notes than to read the entire chapter from the book). 2)Do ALL the assigned homework problems. The exams are usually easier than the assigned problems, so if you can do them all, it's almost guaranteed that you will do well on the exam. Also, the homeworks will be collected and graded. This makes up 15% of your final grade. So doing well on the homeworks will have a direct effect on your final grade 3)Go to his office hours and/or E-mail him regarding the topics that you don't understand; He is very approachable and he is willing to help his students. Do all the above, and you'll do just fine. Good Luck!
