Markovic is a slightly above average EE professor. I’d say he’s better than most other EE professors with explaining things. But that is not to say that his explanations are amazing. He’d often go through things quickly and skip steps, and assume you knew things. But after rewatching his lectures and supplementing the material with Youtube videos, it was alright. Homeworks were kind of vague at times and difficult. The midterm was posted on CCLE and due 3 hours later on gradescope. The final was posted on CCLE and due 24 hours later. The midterm was alright but the finals was harder. There is a project where you have one partner. It was pretty time consuming. Projects were graded not only on correctness but also on how energy, time and space efficient your implementation was compared to others.
Overall I’d say he’s the best you can get for ee115c out of the other professors.
This man is actually just a f*cking devil. The content is very hard, but it would have been fine if we had a teacher that actually knew how to teach! Unfortunately, Markovic is not that kind of person. For our midterm, a solid 20% of the test give or take was on logical effort, despite the fact he only taught part of logical effort literally one lecture before the midterm, expecting us to absorb everything and understand that lecture immediately. He also never taught us what pull up and pull down logical effort was, despite testing us on that for the midterm. His lectures are cluttered and unorganized as hell, and he keeps mumbling and being unable to clearly explain a topic,as he adapts his already difficult to understand powerpoint slides to the blackboard. Oftentimes, his lectures consist of him throwing around (but usually forgetting to define) a bunch of jargon and vocab, then doing examples where he skips all steps and work process and just writes the answer. Office hours are at an inconvenient time (early morning at 930-1030, which sucks if you have morning classes). Him and the TA seem to have had zero communication, as they would always tell us to do opposite things on the project. Also, regarding the project, which is 25% of your final grade, it is graded relative to other projects performance on energy. Which means even if you fulfill the rubric requirements, if your energy performance is not as good as other groups, prepare to get f*cked. Cadence tutorials were useless for the project, and I had to often find youtube vids to supplement. There is a project testbench which you use to report results (in his own words, he said to use the testbench as configured to report energy), but he flip flops on whether to allow you to use it based on his mood. 7 homework's, the last 2 of which are extremely cancerous and time consuming. There was only 1 extension on a HW ever, usually, HWs are always die Thursday each week, no exceptions. Also, homework's still assigned during projects. His tests were significantly harder than in previous years, and from what I've heard from others, the curve was not nearly as generous, so alot of people got screwed I assume. He flip flops on requirements alot; for example, for the project, he listed new energy calculation guidelines literally 4 days before due date on Piazza, then changed his mind several hours later. Speaking of Piazza, do not ever expect quick responses, especially prior to exams; these people (Markovic and TA) rarely respond to Piazza questions, and if you ask your question 48 hours prior to an exam, don't expect them to be answered in time.
This professor made life a living hell this quarter. No wonder why Kosovans want independence from Serbia.
Strange class. It’s hard to take this without having taken 115A. I’m not sure what I learnt from it. Unless you must, avoid.
He's a good guy. Lectures were podcasted (aka I went to class all of twice). Material at the beginning goes pretty fast if you're not super good at 115A stuff (semiconductor physics). I was 25th percentile in 115A in the end and I was pretty confused by the beginning of 115c. Luckily it lightens up and gets really easy. Ended up 23/57, which turned out to be a B+.
I did poorly on the homework, but rocked the project. Got 2 points above average on both final and test. Studied like 4-5 hours total for each test.
Overall: Not a bad class, just don't underestimate the project. Grading super generous (50th percentile ~ B+ is crazy, I got a B in 115A for a 25th percentile).

Professor Markovic assumes you know everything. I personally know we're all confused. It's one of those classes where everyone but the four people raising hands and the ten people who are quiet know what's going on. Everyone else is completely lost.
