Professor Bozovic is really cute during lecture, especially when she laughs at her own silliness. If you have taken physics before, especially AP physics in high school, this class will be easy for you. I had a horrible time with AP physics in high school and got a C, but taking it a second time with Bozovic I got an A. Doing as many problems as you can is the best way to study. She only assigns about ten or so problems for each chapter, and doesn't collect the HW. You do one chapter a week, so the workload is not a lot at all. There are two midterms, and the lowest score of the two will be dropped. She definitely curves, but unlike the older reviews, she doesn't set the average to an A-. I think she sets it to around a B, which is still nice (better than B-). To do well, do ALL of the example problems in each chapter. they help you learn the concepts and formulas really well. You get to bring a formula sheet (back and front of paper) to the midterms and 2 sheets to the final so no need to memorize any formulas. She gives you practice tests which is nice so do them all! do them twice if you have time. from the practice tests you will see whats types of things she likes to test you on and what the questions are like. Sometimes variations of examples she did in class show up on exams so know them well. Mechanics is hard to learn the first time around, so do lots of problems. Bozovic doesn't try to trick you, so she is probably the easier of the other professors, and there's a nice curve. I would suggest TAKE HER.

I found Professor Bozovic very easy to understand despite what other people say. She has a slight accent, but I thought she was very thorough at explaining the problems and how to use calculus to solve them, so that people with little experience should understand them. In lecture, she goes over problems of varying difficulty but her tests only have very straightforward problems that don't require calculus to solve. Proffesor Bozovic does not collect homework, only counts the higher of the two midterms, and allows a page of notes on the midterms and final. I took AP Physics a couple years ago, so I already knew everything except the last two chapters. I stopped coming to class since I got 100 on the first midterm, didn't watch the podcasts or do the homework, and only studied a couple days before the final. If you don't know physics that well, you can still ace the class, just study harder and watch her lectures. The most important thing you can do is go over the practice tests she posts online and her past midterms and finals because A LOT of problems on the midterms/final were from her previous tests.

I took Dr. Bozovic because of Bruin Walk more-or-less interpreting her as an easy professor. This was my first course in physics ever, and I wasn't really looking so much for a class with a 'good' teacher, but rather a class with an 'easy' one.
From the class' overtly negative reaction to the first and second midterms, I can tell that most of the students had also taken her because of this 'image' the she had upheld on this website - the 1st was challenging, but averaged at around 80%.
The 2nd - which had emphasis on concepts such as conservation of energy and momentum - averaged at around 56%. Of course, the class was furious (despite the fact that DBoz drops the lowest of two in your final grade).
I heard many things through the grapevine regarding Bozovic's incompetence as a professor, such as how Bozovic's exams don't correlate well with her lectures or assigned homework, among other things.
The truth is, she's a very fair professor. And her homework problems might not be exactly what's on the exam, but what the hell do you expect? Her lectures - although somewhat shaky at times - are, for the most part, concise and, sometimes, even more thorough than what's in the book. She goes over the conceptual, for the most part, leaving the example-doing to the students (which is the way it should be). I think, what many failed to grasp was that her exams were almost purely conceptual - the scenarios were quite simple, in retrospect, but she had us manipulate the given information in such a way that we'd get something that usually wouldn't be the most intuitive of responses. I once went to her office hours and asked for her advice as to how I should approach studying for her final, having expressed my concern with my previous exam grades (average). Her tip was simple: do as many problems as you can, over and over again. From doing this, you not only understand the the mechanisms of that particular scenario, but you'll be able to grasp and further cement the relationships between certain mechanical concepts to be able to apply them to other situations.
This, over course, should be obvious with any physics class. And, damn, did it help with her final (I walked out of it 3 hours ago). Again - easy scenarios, counterintuitive manipulations. No duh, I'm not just going to memorize the various possible quantities of work I can exert on a spring and hope it's on the fucking exam - I gotta understand how it works! This is only expected of a student with a high motivation to learn, such as a pre-med, right? Unfortunately, my ears are tired with all of my pre-med classmates' bitching of how much of an incompetent professor Bozovic is. Coming from 20 series chem and 30 series math (there aren't many good professors in these classes), she's one of the best South Campus profs I've ever had.
And, plus, for a South Campus prof, she's quite good looking (her form-fitting clothes are quite flattering, if I do say so myself). So, take her! If you want to LEARN physics, TAKE Bozovic. If you want an easy class, I don't know. She probably changed her strategy and brought the heat on for our class, compared to what we've all read about her past classes. But, think about it, if you were a professor and you knew that something like Bruin Walk existed in which your previous students would review your performance as a professor and you encountered comments that depicted you as "a complete joke" and teaching a class that's a "wast of time" and for "simpletons", you'd turn up the heat too, right?

I took Bozovic for 6A, worst class I have ever taken at UCLA. She is a terrible lecturer; she'll start an example and work through part of it, then get distracted by something she forgot to include in the first step and never finish explaining what the point of the example was. Basically, no examples in class are useful at all. Her homework is all out of the book, which is completely different than what is covered in class.
Her tests are terrible too. The questions are the opposite of the homework she assigns and not covered by whatever she manages to half-way explain in class. Our class average was a 56 on one midterm and she was surprised at how poorly we did, showing that she is completely out-of-touch with her students and their learning progress. I did not learn one useful thing from her during the entire quarter, I had to teach myself everything out of the textbook and then try to relate it to her ridiculous exams.
Don't take Bozovic, she's terrible.

Physics 6A with Bozovic was a complete joke. I learned absolutely nothing and passed with high honors wholly based on what I learned in AP Physics. Her tests are extremely easy if you know your concepts well. On our final, almost all of the problems were identical since she only wanted to test if we understood collisions. Easy as she is, I know lot of people who were struggling because they just couldn't grasp the concepts.

Take Bozovic if you already have a good grasp of physics and just need the credit.
Don't take Bozovic if you actually want to learn physics. You will walk away more confused than before.

She is a good professor and I like how she always did a lot of problems in class because it helped me understand the material. The midterms were not that hard (she drops the lowest midterm of the 2) but she used variables instead of numbers for some problems so that always confused me. The final was basically a third midterm and it focused on conservation of energy and conservation of momentum. The final was really easy, which helped me get an A. So as long as you put in the work it is not that hard to get an A in this class.
