I'm writing this in memory of Don Suggs. Don was the most influential professor I had while at UCLA. He taught me the technical skills I still use today. A patient and thoughtful man he was. And his dry sense of humor I'll always remember.
Thank you Don for the memories and tolerating my hidden globs of oil paint that got on everything and for letting me use the studio on Kinross for hours on end when no one was in there.
He has great critiques, it's like a "no wrong answer" kind of thing so you don't have to worry if you can't draw. He does however grade you on effort, and by that I mean time put into the work. His assignments are creative and I liked the class, it's just not something you'd take to develop technical drawing skills.
Don is a great professor that really alters your perspective on drawing and constantly pulls you out of your comfort zone.
Even if you have never drawn in your life it doesnt matter -- this course will help you become a better artist if not technically then intellectually.
Definitely a recommended professor.
