I felt very privileged to take this class with professor Alpers before he retired this year. He was an extremely knowledgeable man, and he did a great job of showcasing that knowledge in each lecture. Best of all though, he's a very down to earth and caring person.
I really liked him. He liked his subject, which I thought was going to be terribly boring, but he made it pretty interesting. He makes it pretty easy for your to do well. I got an A without going to class much, but I did write good papers. We had one book review, a few map quizzes (which you have study guides for), and a take home final. He put all his lecture notes online and even podcasted them. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for an easy A in history.
