I had Tognozzi for Italian Opera and I absolutely loved her! She speaks very clearly and because I hadn't taken Italian 100 yet, she was an easy grader on my grammar mistakes. She basically wanted to see that we had actually watched the operas and listened in class.
She does use the socratic method and call on people randomly which can be a bit unnerving when you are in a class of people who speak much better than you do, but she never made you sit there and look dumb trying to speak. She would always engage with you and attempt to improve your speaking skills.
Overall, I thought she was an excellent professor that was concerned with student learning without wanting to trick them.
