This class was fairly straight forward however your grade is made up of only the two midterms, the final, and the final project. If you do bad on one of these your overall grade will suffer. The lectures were clear and concise and she elaborated on any questions students asked during class. I would recommend using your TA when doing the practice set as it is the only real accounting work you do and it was overwhelming trying to complete the assignment correctly during finals week. The exams are all multiple choice.

Professor Woo was pretty good and the class overall was relatively manageable. Most of the work that she says to do feels like busy work but make sure to stay on top of it because it's pretty much the only way to learn the material and do well on her tests. The grading scheme is a bit tough, as it was only the two midterms and the final that counted towards the grade, but they weren't too hard.

I have the textbook for this class for $5 if you need it text me **********

This class was much harder than I expected it to be. Your grades are based off two midterms, a final, and a practice set. I made the mistake of not doing the practice problems that Woo assigned until the end of the quarter, and my grade definitely suffered as a result. The tests are manageable as long as you study/do the practice problems, but I did find the final to be difficult. The practice set is very time consuming, so start AT LEAST a week or two before it is due. Woo did not give any extra credit or curve the class at all.

Bruh. I have only myself to blame for not passing this. If you have a lot going on and are a chronic procrastinator, do not take this class. But also, do not listen to a lot of the reviews because they say you can pass this in your sleep....you have to actually try here.

Professor Woo is great and gives such a good introduction to accounting! She gave 2% extra credit for filling out course evaluations and curved the entire class up about 3%. I went from a B+ to an A because of this.

Grades are 50% biweekly take-home close-book quizzes (5 total, 10 questions each, 20 minute time limit, 12 hour window) and 50% the final project. HW is not collected but doing it really helped me understand the concepts and do better on the quizzes. I will say that there is a lot of memorization and effort that needs to be put into this class to do well on quizzes, and sometimes questions can get tricky if you don't read carefully enough. The final project took a lot of time, especially because it must be submitted on a specific PDF worksheet that is provided, but if you do most of the calculations on excel and then transfer it over it's not as painful.

Overall, I'd recommend taking this class with Woo, especially if you're considering taking on the accounting minor. I learned that accounting isn't right for me, but I still enjoyed attending lectures because of her enthusiasm.

Professor Woo was excellent and extremely accommodating to students who choose to remain in an online environment--lectures are offered both in-person and via recordings. Lectures were thorough and well-explained. As for exams, Professor Woo only requires a series of quizzes to be taken throughout the quarter (there is no midterm/final). In fact, the final is a 10 week packet that I would HIGHLY suggest you seek help from other students--this is super crucial to getting a good grade.

This is a challenging class, but Professor Woo was quite helpful in making the accounting equations make sense. She teaches the basics thoroughly so that everything that comes after is manageable. Make sure to study the worksheets and ask as many questions as possible. She is very engaging and makes sure students are prepared for the final.

Professor Woo is amazing!! She provides fill in the blank notes for this class so it is super easy to tell what it is that she is wanting you to get from her lectures. Section was not mandatory and neither was lecture. She has lots of resources on her page so that you can review your notes or fill them in if you were not in class. Also her quizzes are not very hard and the final project is pretty easy to get an A on if you put the effort in. She was also super clear and overall a great teacher!

Do the HW for this class. I was pretty consistent with doing all of them until the middle of the quarter... until there were way too many questions to keep up with. So to practice, I recommend doing at least half of questions of the quick studies and exercises! In my opinion, the problem hw questions were a waste of time, but it did help me practice for the final project. Definitely don't wait until the last minute but give yourself at least 3-4 days to commit to the project and you should be fine.
