This class was very engaging and was super easy to follow along! The quizzes can be quite tricky but if you try some of the optional homework problems that she posts, it's definitely helpful. The practice set was tedious and time consuming but also pretty cool and satisfying when your numbers add up in the end. This class is graded on a curve but it would never curve down in a way that would hurt you. This quarter, an 89 was an A- and a 92 was an A so not too much of a curve.

professor Woo is very good, COMPARATIVELY to the other business department professors. She is often very engaging and she makes the content easy to understand. She does however go quite fast and during lectures, although I am entertained, I do not retain much of the information. This means that I have to go back and watch her pre-recorded lecture videos. This is rather inconvenient at times, but its nice to have something to fall back on concerning revision.

I really enjoyed this class! the workload was manageable, and even though all of the topics were new to me Professor Woo made everything pretty easy to understand. I also really liked how the class was formatted. Lectures were held in person but were also all posted ahead of time on BruinLearn, so if I wanted to get ahead or I had to miss a class it was not an issue. Discussions are not mandatory and you are allowed to go to any! The best part is that there are no midterms or finals - your entire grade comes from 5 quizzes (10% each) and a long final practice set (50%). I would take this class with Professor Woo if you have the chance!

This class definitely was not too difficult, however, it was super hard to grasp if you aren't fortunate enough to have a tablet/iPad. Prof. Woo provided us with fill in the blank worksheets weekly that she completely covers in lectures, but if you don't have a touch screen device, it is definitely a struggle to learn the content the way my peers were able to, especially since printing on this campus is such a hassle. Overall, Prof. Woo is such a sweet and caring teacher which we all could tell, even from asynchronous lectures, but I definitely was not able to learn as much as I should/could have if the teaching style were different.

I took this class asynchronously and the class was super organized and clear. It would've been nice to be able to connect with other students but there's just a few quizzes that make up half your grade and a Practice Set that makes up the other half, pretty easy A.

I am a Geography major, so this class didn't count for anything and I will not be taking another accounting class. While I thought I might learn some practical personal finance skills from this class, I was rather mistaken. This class is very specific to accounting and has few non-accounting applications. It's rather easy though, I spent a total of 6 days on this class this quarter and still passed handily. However, the quizzes can be tricky and I would highly recommend doing the practice sets if you're shooting for an A.

Professor is imo a very engaging professor. She posts the lecture ahead of time so you can go at your own pace and the homework is optional. The Summer 2021 session consisted of 5 quizzes (10 points each accounting for 50% of total grade) and one big project due at the end of the class. Quizzes are easy if you just review the notes right before you take the test and final project is not that bad as well. Homework is optional, but utilize it if you need more practice.

Took this class outside my major to learn a skill and get a good grade. Didn't go as planned... but still learned about accounting with no prior experience.
Woo has great materials, clear lectures, and posts OH to CCLE which is great if you can't make it or want a refresher on something.
Your grade is 5 quizzes (50%) and your final project, a practice set (50%). The homework is optional, but highly recommended if you wanna do well on the quizzes which are time crunched. The PDF of the textbook is free online and she posts the answers.
The practice set is time consuming and comes without a lot of instruction. I did great on the quizzes and got docked on the PS because of concepts that we hadn't emphasized much in this intro class. It was frustrating, but some still do well.
