Last review was totally written by Rivera, bahaha.

Rivera is laidback. Class has no structure though. Not sure if it's just him who made his own slides make no sense, but nothing he shared with our class ever made sense or kept me interested. I just sat there counting down the seconds until class ended. His midterm (historical fiction) was weird, final was even weirder (group project)... Attendance matters, but he provides plenty of extra credit opportunities. He also likes to say uh-huh a lot and answer his students' questions with a question. Like I said, not my cup of tea. I'm at UCLA, not UCD-CC.

Prof. Rivera is an engaging lecturer whose class structure is pretty fair. 15% on attendance grades, 25% on in-class pop quizzes, 25% on a take-home creative project completed by yourself and a 35% final that is a group creative project. You do need to attend classes on a regular basis, do the readings before-hand, and participate to be successful in this class. For our final project in this class, we put together a class review/info page on instagram for prospective students to check it out and get to know Prof. Rivera. @history161.ucla
