Nice guy but class can be boring. Goes off on tangents but he is all about learning. Not sure if you will learn anything but he is fair and it’s hard to fail.

I've taken 129 and 133 with Steen. If I had one bit of advice to give, I'd say wait until you've taken 150 and learned how to write a comm research paper for 133. 129 he didn't assign a research paper, but he also mentioned he was "trying it out" for our class and there were easy weekly assignments instead.

Overall, Steen is a huge sweetheart and just a kind and really enthusiastic professor. Not in the sense of charismatic, but you can tell he really really cares about what he is teaching. Not a hard grader, straightforward tests, and always available for office hours. He also responds to email crazy fast.

Very boring class, but very nice and available professor. He is very understanding and available when needed. Overall boring class but good professor I would take again.
