Sorry this review is just gonna be a rant about how much I love Gaye Theresa Johnson. This woman is so goated. She's such a caring, educated, and cool professor. She turned this class into a safe space post-election and offered so many resources for undocumented students. She truly is a legend.
The class itself was also an amazing class. Relevant subject matter and pretty fair tests. My one complaint is that the midterm was 15 short answer questions that took most of the class HOURS to complete (I literally spent 5 hours on it). But it was a take home test at least, and Professor Johnson seemed to realize it was too long so it was probably a one time thing.
The rest of your grade comes from two other papers as well as discussion participation, all of which I thought were graded fairly. Overall, I would take again 1000/10

This class is very lax, but to the point where it's so relaxed that you never really know what's going on. The TA's were all over the place, some giving work while other didn't at all. This is one of those classes that are super easy but it's just annoying since it is so unorganized. With that said tho there is hardly any work, just a quiz, a creative paper then a final paper of 3 pages max. Material is interesting so none of the papers were ever hard to write. Johnson is super nice and passionate about her work so there's that as well.
