Professor
George Michailidis
Most Helpful Review
Spring 2025 - Professor is so nice and an easy grader. Curve is really generous, the lowest letter grade you can get in this class is a B since the lowest midterm scores in the class gets curved to a B. Professor genuinely cares about our learning and TAs are also really helpful. He lets you code in either R or Python for the homework assignments, which are also graded very easily as well, since pretty much everyone got full marks on the homeworks. (He also provides code snippets for some of the homework assignments, and all you have to do is change some parts of the code to the specific question). I would say the content was confusing at first since its entirely ML algorithms but once you understand one, everything else will click super fast. The content doesn't feel as dense once you understand the material. You are guaranteed an A in the class if you perform higher than average on the exams (which is probably around 75% raw on the exams). I definitely would take Michailidis again, genuinely one of the best professors in the STATS department! Homework - 40% (4 total, 10% each) Midterm 1 - 20% Midterm 2 - 20% Take-Home Project - 20%
