One of the best GEs EVER at UCLA. Professor is so funny and engaging as a lecturer and the content is REALLY fun too! She cracks a lot of jokes during lecture :) They aren’t recorded/podcasted and the slides themselves don’t have a ton of info so go to class. It’s worth it anyway…

Assignments were super easy— we had like two discussion quizzes that were just term identifications and explaining one of the images on the slides. You also have the option of reflecting on a reading or making a meme of the course content! The final exam was also pretty easy. Definitely an easy A as long as you put in a little bit of effort.

Most fun class I've ever taken at UCLA. In addition to being a very engaging class with some seriously interesting content, this course was the easiest A I've received. Prof. Konstantopoulos is wonderfully interesting to listen to, funny, and a very clear lecturer. This class has no textbook and is not recorded meaning you NEED to go to lecture. The slides are mostly pictures and are a framework for the professor to talk through during class, so you cannot survive on just reading the slides but just go to lecture, it's fun anyway.

Two assignments the whole quarter (I chose the option to make a MEME on class content with a paragraph explaining the context for both assignments), two fairly straightforward quizzes, one five page essay on a primary source as the midterm paper, and an online final exam with the choice of essay or make your own monster/demon (of COURSE I chose the latter). Because this class places such little emphasis on grades and it's so easy to score well, I truly enjoyed the opportunity to just sit and learn about something so niche from someone who was clearly passionate about the subject.

So in case it wasn't clear enough - I really recommend taking this class!
