First of all, this professor's name is Gelare Khoshgozaran. Not sure why Bruinwalk displays her name like that.
Most classes are structured into two parts with watching a film in the beginning and then having a socratic about it afterward. Note that the class covers serious topics like racism, sexism, classism, queer oppression, and state-sponsored massacre, so it's normal to feel uncomfortable.
Still, discussions can get boring sometimes because most of what is said is similar to what's already been said. Gelare tries hard not to interfere with the conversation being generated, but it can still be intimidating to dish out hot takes. I've personally been afraid to say some of the things on my mind, but I talked to Gelare after class and she reassured me that I will be treated with decency and respect even if we don't agree.
