The subject and information in this class is very interesting however it does not need to be accompanied by three hour lecutures. Professor Yan's lectures basically reiterate and summarize the reading which therefore makes this class boring. Whenever given the opportunity to perform something in class you can basically do whatever you want regardless of whether it seems appropriate for the topic or not because Yan is such an inteligent educator that she will find something within the performance that has some significane to what you are currently studying. Basically, Professor Yan just guides you through the course and you are responsible to learn the not-so-difficult informations and contribute to the class discussions (which are usually awesome). Go to class, pay attention if you want, do the readings and papers and you are guanteed an easy A.

This class had interesting information, however the structure was not really developed and the lectures and lessons were usually boring. The way the information was expressed made the class dull and not very fun. Professor Yan is a well educated professor however the interpetations and the way the information was expressed could have been elaborated on. Work load is light and most of the plays you read were interesting. Attendance policy is a bit ridiculous.
