2019 Babaie is not the Babaie of the mid 2000's

I found this class to be quite painful. Babaie speaks incoherently and doesn't explain concepts thoroughly, so my classmates and I didn't understand his lectures. Content-wise, he rushed through more topics than required for the course, claiming that he wanted to prepare us for ECE 115C; in result, we spent little time on each of the many concepts that we had to learn. Please don't take this class.

Avoid taking this class with Babaie. His assumption is that because all of the material is covered by the textbook, he doesn't need to go over it in class. Instead, he extends on the material into subjects that we don't need to learn, but are on the tests anyways. His lectures are extremely unclear, partly because they are massively disorganized and partly because his English isn't great. His tests are hard, but because the averages are ~50% they curve nicely. Overall the class is doable, but I don't feel like I learned the material very well.

This was the worst class I've ever taken. When Babaie didn't start class early (as in he started lecturing before 8 am), he would get to the classroom early and completely fill the board with stuff which meant that everyone was frantically taking notes while he lectured on something completely different. Lectures was hard to understand and he covered way more material than what was on the course outline, which made studying for his extremely difficult exams even harder. He also mentioned that he doesn't curve but determines grades based on certain cutoffs. Also didn't confirm dates for the midterm until the week before we were supposed to take them. Definitely a terrible class

Class: Completely useless. But you have to attend to get attendance points. 5% of the total grade. Just get the textbook and learn from it. The textbook is pretty awesome though. Go to Neso Adacemy on youtube.

Test: Not that crazy. But the avg is around 50%. You can choose 7 problems out of 10 in the final.

Professor: Bad lecturer
