Pham was such a kind middle-aged man. He is such a happy teacher and he always asks "is that good?" "do we understand?". He did have an accent but if you listen carefully, he explains things very well. Granted, I actually had Malloy/Burton for this class and Pham was just an occasional substitute but I did thoroughly enjoy when he came :))))

Launchpad is the most annoying and boring thing ever. You use it for all the LS7 series, it's awful-- for that part, good luck. You can get by most of the time if you just read the highlighted/bold terms, but if it doesn't make sense then def read the chapter.

PS: I'm selling all of my notes (from both the readings and the lectures) for $15, as well as supplementary practice worksheets, so hmu on ********** if you are interested!

Professor Pham was awesome. He teaches a flipped classroom so you will be watching videos at home and then coming into class to solve problems with clickers. He's also very accommodating and understanding to students who have outside issues (i.e. family death/illness). Go to his office hours, he is super helpful and will try to help you where he can. He posts a TON of past exams for you to practice with and some of those problems are either similar or exactly the problem that will be on the exam. There was 2 midterms and 1 final (although the final was optional for students because of the the coronavirus and campus closure). I still have most of the course material if anyone needs help! *************

Awesome professor. 7C was definitely not an easy class but Pham made it honestly really enjoyable for me. Going to his office hours was really helpful since sometimes things in class weren't the most clear, and I did notice that lectures sometimes felt a bit rushed. Pham was always super nice and willing to explain things; taking this class with him is something I'd easily recommend to anyone

I thought that Dr. Pham was easy to understand even with his accent. He makes ample time for students to ask questions as he goes through the slides, which I really appreciated. He's a funny, thorough lecturer, and he's really kind and approachable. You can tell that he really loves his teaching and biology. The tests in 7C, specifically midterm 1, are known to have pretty ambiguous wording that can make you lose points on content you understand due to misunderstanding the semantics of the question, but that's just how it is, and all the professors give the same test. Regardless, it gets better as the quarter goes on! The content overall is fascinating, and Dr. Pham does an awesome job teaching it. All lectures are recorded.

Dr. Pham is funny and an extremely engaging lecturer. He breaks everything down in a way that is understandable and answers questions during lectures. One of the best professors at UCLA hands down. I think 7B is the easiest of the 7 series. Make sure to show up to class and do the clickers; they are good practice for the tests!

Dr. Pham is the best professor I've ever had at UCLA. He's funny and makes biology interesting and engaging! I have never had trouble understanding him. In fact, he explains concepts so thoroughly and with so much patience that he helped make even the more challenging concepts digestible for me. 7A is relatively easygoing compared to the other classes in the 7 series because your test grades are composed of an individual and group phase that are weighted equally. This helps a lot and allows for a good margin of error on the individual phase. There's ample extra credit, too; I always chose the comic option where you get to draw a biology related comic, and I honestly had fun doing it. Being able to draw something for credit was a nice break during busy weeks.
