Good class. I will warn you that lectures are very fast and you will have to read the book before or after to fully know what your doing. The great part of the class is that the tests are right out of the book!!!! You know exactly what is coming. If your a student that likes never opening the book don't take him. If you can open the book, read most of the chapter, and do the odd problems in the book this class is easy!!!!!! At the end half of the class got A's and those that didn't were the ones that never opened the book, it's that simple. My advice: Take this class, read the book, do some problems, and for the test.....PLUG AND CHUG!!

regretfully, prof. slaus is one of those whose lot in life seems to be to take potentially fascinating topics and turn them into tasteless, dry, boring, sorry bits of ideas. he seems like a nice guy, just not a very charismatic teacher (incidentally, it seems like very few physics profs are). and his exams are weird - some of us went from an A+ on the first midterm to a D+ on the second. with more studying before the second (not lying).
